It’s an Auburn tribute – a day to honor veterans, past and present.

More than 5,000 people gathered along Main Street on Saturday to honor the many military men and women during the City of Auburn’s 48th annual Veterans Day Parade and Observance.

The mile-long parade, one of the largest of its kind in the country, featured more than 200 units, military vehicles, veterans units and honor guards, in addition to more than 25 high school marching bands. Spectators also enjoyed the procession of drill teams, community and scouting groups, intermixed with floats, antique and classic cars and other entries of interest.

The National Veterans Day Committee and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs selected Auburn as one of the few Regional Sites for Veterans Day Observance in 2013.
