Auburn School District announces new public information office

Vicki Alonzo is the new public information officer, the Auburn School District announced this week. Alonzo has worked for the district since 1995 in the Information Technology Department as the client services manager.

Alonzo has worked for the district since 1995 in the Information Technology Department as the client services manager.

Alonzo brings a wealth of knowledge about the district to her new position.  She served on the district’s strategic plan committee, has been involved in the transition to standards-based teaching and learning, and has represented the district on various regional and state committees.

Alonzo earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Washington University. She was the Classified Employee of the Year for the school district in 2010 and was chosen by the Auburn Association of Educational Office Professionals as the Administrator of the Year in 2008.

“I am thrilled to be combining my knowledge of our amazing district with my communications skills,” Alonzo said.
