Combined election numbers Monday from King and Pierce counties show the Auburn School District Proposition 1 passing with 62.17 percent of voters approving the bond.
The bond would build two new elementary schools and rebuild Chinook, Dick Scobee, Lea Hill, Pioneer, Terminal Park and Olympic.
“Though the election results will not be certified until Nov. 29, we can be confident the numbers will meet the 60 percent threshold to pass,” Alan Spicciati, ASD superintendent, said in a statement released Monday.
“I want to thank our entire community for coming together to support this bond. It will be life-changing for families, students and staff in the Auburn School District,” Spicciati said. “By passing this bond, the community voted to provide safe, modern schools to all children in Auburn.
“We are going to build eight amazing schools that our whole community can be proud of and will serve generations of Auburn students,” he said. “We will have a website where the community can track the progress of the various projects. More information will be provided at a later date.
“Thank you again for your support. It is a great day for the Auburn community.”
