The Auburn School District Board of Directors will recognize Deyanna King, office manager in Student Special Services, for her outstanding service at 7 p.m. Monday in the board room at the James P. Fugate Administration Building.

Having been in the district for more than 30 years, almost all of those years working in special education, King has seen the special education population grow from less than 500 students to more than 1,800. She is responsible for tracking and entering all IEP information, evaluation information, special education enrollment reporting and annual federal reporting.

Not only is King the expert on special education records, she also is a leader for the administrative support staff in Auburn. She has been involved in AAEOP for 30 years. She has held the secretary and vice president positions and has been the president off and on for 15 years.

King grew up in Snoqualmie, graduated from Foster High School and has lived in the same house in Auburn for 43 years. Both of her adult sons graduated from Auburn High. She has two granddaughters, one at Orting High School and one who attends Mt. Baker.
