Auburn to hold holiday festivities

DEC. 6

• Downtown parade:

4:30 p.m., Main Street. Community caroling, lighting of the City Hall Tree will follow. Participants please report to the parade line-up area (E Street Northeast and Main Street) at 4 p.m. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to review the parade rules and regulations, which can be found at www.auburnwa.gov.

• Santa house: B Street Plaza. Presented by the Auburn Optimists. Have photos taken with Santa before and after the parade. Santa House will be open at various hours throughout the holiday season.

• Holiday Snack & Craft activity: 2-4 p.m., Washington Elementary School, 20 E St NE. Children and families can join the parks staff in creating holiday gingerbread houses and ornaments. Pre-registration fee is $3 for residents, $4 for non-residents. Registration at the door is $5.

• Movie: 6:30 p.m., Auburn Avenue Theater, 10 Auburn Avenue, a screening of the original “Miracle on 34th Street.” Fee at the door is $6. Hot food concessions will be available.

DEC. 13

• Breakfast with Santa: Two seatings at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., Auburn Senior Activity Center, 808 Ninth Street SE. Hosted by Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation. Cost is $5 for residents of Auburn and $7 for those living outside the city ($6/$8 for adults). Served by Santa’s elves. Musical entertainment and a special visit from Santa. Pre-registration is required.
