Auburn ushers in the holiday season with its traditional downtown parade, tree lighting and other festive activities Saturday.
The Santa Parade begins at 4:30 p.m. on Main Street, followed by the ceremonial City Hall Christmas Tree lighting and synchronized light show in the plaza, at 25 W. Main St.
Families and children who want to join in the parade may line up at E Street Northeast and Main Street, beginning at 4 p.m.
The Auburn Elites from Pioneer Elementary School will provide parade spectators with pre-parade treats.
Saturday’s holiday activities:
• Holiday Snack & Craft” activity: 2-4 p.m., Washington Elementary, 20 E St, NE. Participants can join the Parks staff in creating holiday gingerbread houses and ornaments. Pre-registration fee is $3 for residents, $4 for non-residents. Registration at the door is $5.
• “The Elves and The Toymaker”: 6:30 p.m., Auburn Ave Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.
StoryBook Theater and Auburn Ave Kids present the holiday musical. Tickets are $8 and available at the Parks office, 2840 Riverwalk Drive SE, online at www.auburnwa.gov/arts, or at the theater box office, starting one hour before the show.
