For the Reporter

Auburn residents are invited to unite with thousands throughout America to observe the 65th annual National Day of Prayer on May 5.

The event is from noon to 1 p.m. in the City Hall Plaza, 25 W. Main St..

Eleven Auburn pastors will lead a public prayer event. Prayers will be offered for America and its leaders in the six centers of power: government, education, family, service personnel, church and media.

This year’s theme, “Wake Up America,” hopes to inspire a huge wave of prayer from Washington D.C., to Washington state and beyond.

In the event of rain the event will move to Faith & Victory Church, 1302 A St. SE, Auburn.
