Construction of the B Street Northwest reconstruction project begins Wednesday, Aug. 2.
The project will replace the roadway pavement on B Street Northwest from 37th Street to 49th Street. The project will replace sewer pipes, repair damaged sidewalk, curb and gutter, upgrade several driveways to be compliant with ADA requirements, replace curb ramps to be compliant with ADA requirements and address drainage issues along the corridor.
The initial construction activities will include installing a de-watering system and preparing for the sewer main installation, which will require lane restrictions on B Street NW between 49th Street NW and 42nd Street NW; and a road closure on 49th Street NW between B Street NW and Auburn Way N. The work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The work is scheduled to take approximately five weeks, however, the work is dependent on weather. Additional notices will be made as the construction work progresses.
Access to businesses and residences within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected. Please use caution and pay close attention to police officers, flaggers and construction sign directions.
