The artwork of talented members of the Auburn Valley Creative Arts (AVCA) organization are on display at the City Hall Gallery through April 29, as well as the artist-run gallery at 108 Division St.
The City Hall Gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is free to the public. AVCA Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday
“There is incredible artistic talent in Auburn, and it is wonderful to see it on display in multiple locations for the public to experience,” said Arts Commissioner Ronie Schwend.
In the City Hall Gallery, 16 artists showcase more than 30 works of art showcasing photography, watercolor, mosaic and pastel – all created by AVCA members, including Deborah Horne, Amanda DeSilver, Di Faria, Marie Lyndemere, Joan Nicholson, Lela Brugger, J.M. King, Lydia Sutton, Judyann Matthews, Valerie Smith, Zachary Tanner, Amy Sie, Mary Ellen Bowers, Connie Reinecke, Dan Norman and Wendy Ray.
The opening reception is 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
The Auburn Valley Creative Arts is an artist cooperative that has managed a gallery located at 108 Division Street since 2012. Quarterly rotating exhibits, classes, and demonstrations are featured on an ongoing basis.
“AVCA is a three-year old organization and we are so happy to have such support from the City and interest from local artists. Art is the soul of any community and we are glad to be part of it!” notes AVCA co-chair Marie Lyndemere.
The City Hall Gallery is presented by the City and the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation.
