A 22-year-old Auburn woman remained in serious condition Wednesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after an ex-boyfriend allegedly stabbed her multiple times in the chest and neck at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of a sports bar in the 21600 block of 84th Avenue South in Kent.
Kent Police arrested a 24-year-old Federal Way man Tuesday night for investigation of first-degree assault, hit and run, and drunken driving in connection with the stabbing, as well as a collision with another vehicle when he reportedly fled the scene in a red Ford pickup at a high rate of speed, according to a police media release.
After the pickup and vehicle collided near the intersection of 84th Avenue South and South 216th Street, both vehicles ended up in an empty parking lot of a commercial building.
The Federal Way man fled on foot through a warehouse area before a police dog helped find him hiding under a bridge near Highway 167. State Patrol troopers assisted Kent Police with the pursuit.
Paramedics treated the woman for multiple stab wounds to her chest and neck, then transported her to Harborview.
Employees and customers at the sports bar called 911 and provided initial first aid to the woman, who reportedly ran into the bar to seek help after the stabbing.
Police will forward the results of their investigation to the King County Prosecutor’s Office.
