Auburn’s Sarah Blum, a nurse Vietnam veteran and nurse psychotherapist specialist, is about to embark on a national book tour and needs the public’s help.

Blum is seeking donations to help support her travels, a tour that features her soon-to-be released book, “Women Under Fire: Abuse in the Military”, which takes a hard look at the extraordinary culture of violence and sexual abuse committed within the armed forces.

Blum interviewed more than 55 women veterans over the past seven years to write the book.

On tour she plans to discuss the issue of military sexual assault, educate the public and inspire action from Congress to end the culture of abuse toward women in the military.

“I can use my Social Security checks to pay my bills while I am traveling and need donations to pay for the travel expenses of airfare, rental car and hotels,” Blum wrote on her website. “Thank you for supporting my mission to bring justice to women in the military and women veterans.”
