Auburn’s Shine wins college scholarship from Coastal Farm & Ranch

Auburn High School senior Patrick Shine won Coastal Farm & Ranch’s college scholarship.

Shine recently was awarded a $500 check at the grand opening of the new Auburn store.

To win the scholarship, Shine completed a two-page application, wrote a 250-word essay on how Coastal Farm and Ranch can best serve Auburn, according to Coastal Farm & Ranch owner Buzz Wheeler, who organized the scholarship committee.

“Patrick’s essay was thoughtful, well written and full of good ideas,” Wheeler said.

Shine, a varsity letterman in golf and wrestling, made the dean’s list award dinner.

Shine plans to attend Oregon State University to study agriculture business.
