Auburn Valley Creative Arts stages its autumn auction benefit, Just Desserts, on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Copper Falls Restaurant on the Auburn Golf Course, 29630 Green River Road SE.
The program, which runs from 7 to 9 p.m., will include assorted desserts and appetizers, local music, wrapped in a fundraising event to benefit AVCA.
“This event will be an evening of elegance and fun,” said AVCA Chairperson Marie Lyndemere, “starting with dessert and ending with appetizers.”
The event will spotlight AVCA artists’ breadth of work at the silent and live auctions. One auction item is a week stay at a resort on The Big Island of Kona, Hawaii.
Genres will include metal art, wood art, paintings, textiles, jewelry, mixed media and glass art.
In addition to the art work, local businesses have contributed gift certificates and items chosen perfectly for gift giving or personal enjoyment.
The other spotlight will be jazz/blues musician Paul Johnson, who is known for his ability to fill a room with one guitar. Johnson, plays locally at Zola’s Cafe in Auburn and other locations throughout the Puget Sound area. Johnson performs and records with Darren Motamedy, a Las Vegas saxophone/wind musician.
Brad Luce, national hydroplane race announcer, will emcee.
Tickets for the event are $35 each and are available for purchase at the gallery or at: avca2013benefit.eventbrite.com.
