The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 301 calls between May 6 and May 12, among them the following.

May 6

Aid call: 3:35 p.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a woman who was complaining of weakness, assessed her and observed symptoms consistent with acute coronary syndrome. Firefighters joined by King County Medic One paramedics treated the woman at the scene before a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

May 7

Aid call: 5:37 p.m. (Auburn). Having assessed a woman who was complaining of upper abdominal pain, firefighters determined she was in stable condition, but required additional care and diagnostics at a hospital, so a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.

May 8

Aid call: 4:02 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a one-year-old baby girl in the throes of a febrile seizure provided immediate treatment before transporting her to Auburn Medical Center for further care.

May 9

Aid call: 10:16 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a woman who was suffering an allergic reaction stabilized her and crews administered epinephrine. After King County Medic One paramedics treated the woman, a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center for further evaluation.

May 10

Aid call: 11:22 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a girl who was complaining of a decreased level of consciousness. Working with King County Medic One paramedics and onsite nursing staff, firefighters provided immediate care for the girl. Following assessment, personnel decided that she would best be evaluated at Seattle Children’s Hospital, so King County Medic One transported her and monitored her during transit.

May 11

Collision: 10:46 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to reports of a rollover accident on northbound SR 167 discovered a man who’d been ejected from the vehicle and thrown about 30 feet. The man received immediate evaluation and stabilization on the scene, including the use of a long spine board and cervical collar. Firefighters then carefully transported the man up an embankment, reassessed him, and King County Medic One paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center.

May 12

Aid call: 8:08 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters assessed the condition of a man who had fallen and suffered a head injury. They administered necessary first aid, including bandaging the wound. A private ambulance safely transported the fellow to a local hospital for further medical attention.
