Over the past two months the City of Auburn has been conducting an online pet model competition — the Top Cat & Big Dog Contest. The friendly competition was held to find an Auburn cat and dog to represent the City in its animal services marketing campaign.

Of the 30 entries that came in, five cats and five dogs made the cut. Photos of the 10 finalists were placed online where votes were cast for the two winners.

A King Charles Spaniard named Colt, owned by Anne Baunach, won Big Dog; and a long-haired, green-eyed cat named Binzer, owned by Marcie Fletcher, was chosen as Auburn’s Top Cat.

The winners were announced at Petpalooza on Saturday.
