The public is invited to attend candidate forums for the upcoming local challenged races.
The Auburn Noon Lions Club will host four candidate forums during October to educate its members and guests, as well as the community, on the important races for public office in the greater Auburn area.
The Lions’ forums are as follows:
• Oct. 6: Candidates Lisa Connors* (i) and Clarissa Ruston* for Auburn School District director, Position 5.
• Oct. 13: Candidates Pete Lewis* (i) and Virginia Haugen for City of Auburn Mayor.
• Oct. 20: Candidates Dow Constantine and Susan Hutchison for King County Executive.
• Oct. 27: Candidates Gene Cerino* (i) and John Partridge* for the Auburn City Council, Position 2.
Candidates denoted with an asterisk following their name have confirmed their attendance at the time of this release.
Forums will be held at the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Building, 910 Ninth St. SE.
The candidates have been invited to arrive at 11:45 a.m. to visit with members as they arrive, followed by lunch during a brief meeting, 10 minutes each to introduce themselves and discuss their candidacy.

Mayoral debate Oct. 15
The Auburn Reporter will be hosting a mayoral debate on Oct. 15 at the Auburn Avenue Theater, located at 10 Auburn Avenue. The debate will be moderated by Deborah Rumbaugh, debate teacher at Auburn Mountainview High School.
Event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The debate will be free. The theater is limited to 270 people. Tickets will be at available at the door only.
