According to King County Elections, by the end of filing week on May 19, the following people filed to run for positions on the Auburn, Algona and Pacific city councils, in addition to the mayoral positions for the cities of Algona and Pacific.
Where only two candidates are listed for a position, those candidates automatically advance to the Nov. 7 general election. Where more than two people are listed for a position, those candidates will meet in the Aug. 1 primary, when voters will choose two candidates to advance to the general election. May 22 was the final day candidates were allowed to withdraw from the ballot. A lot drawing on May 19 determined the order of candidates on the ballot for each office.
