Candidate’s quick turn

As I was thumbing through the King County Official Local Voters' Pamphlet, I found the City of Pacific section where Kevin Cline, candidate for Position No. 6, states: "A vote for Cline means a pro business, pro property rights Libertarian on the Pacific City Council."

As I was thumbing through the King County Official Local Voters’ Pamphlet, I found the City of Pacific section where Kevin Cline, candidate for Position No. 6, states: “A vote for Cline means a pro business, pro property rights Libertarian on the Pacific City Council.”

Mr. Cline concludes his statement with, ” . . . endorsements are pending from our business community and the state and national Libertarian Party.”

I was very surprised to learn of Mr. Cline’s current political ideology. Just a few months ago, he was a Precinct Committee Officer of the 31st Legislative District Democrats, elected by the voters of his precinct.

Additionally, he was elected by fellow members of the 31st Legislative District Democrats to be the Male Representative to the King County Democrats and served in this capacity as recently as last year.

All of us free to change our beliefs and viewpoints at any time, but this sudden 180-degree turn leaves me wondering what his motivations are.
