For the Reporter

Cascade Water Alliance hosts a community meeting on June 4 to discuss improvement projects it will be doing around the Lake Tapps in the fall and winter.

The projects will mean a substantial drawdown of Lake Tapps, officials said.

The meeting runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at North Tapps Middle School, 20029 12th St. E., Lake Tapps.

At the open house meeting Cascade will outline plans and explain what the drawdown means for residents. Cascade is planning to fix the flume, do seismic improvements to Dike 3 and conduct a thorough condition assessment of the lower-conveyance areas. To do that, Cascade will need to lower the lake level to as low as 505 feet – the lowest the lake has been drawn down since 2003.

Additionally, information will be available should residents determine this is a good time to do their own repairs. All permit application material and Cascade licensing information will be available at this meeting.
