For the Reporter
Mt. Baker Middle School and the End Zone Academy service club host a mini “We Day” event that acknowledges and celebrates Auburn Middle School teens committed to changing the world.
The Jan. 24 event is from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Auburn Riverside High School Theater, 501 Oravetz Road.
Celebrate Change kicks off a year of service actions and fundraising at Auburn middle schools. Participating Auburn middle schools will be acknowledged and celebrated. This year’s acknowledgements will spotlight Mt. Baker’s End Zone Academy, which raised $10,000 on behalf of Free the Children to build a school in Haiti.
Auburn middle school students earn free tickets to the event by participating in one local or global act of service and applying for a ticket.
The school district, Sanders Construction, Budget Truck Wrecking, and Scott Hubert State Farm are event sponsors.
For more information about the event, contact Susan Winter at swinter@auburn.wednet.edu or call 206-930-0382.
