On Monday, the Auburn City Council authorized Mayor Nancy Backus to accept the grants, as follows:

• $750,000 to finance the design, environmental permitting, and construction phases of the Lake Tapps Parkway Preservation Project. This grant requires a 13.5 percent local funding match. This project will patch and overlay portions of the pavement on Lake Tapps Parkway Southeast from the western city limits to Lakeland Hills Way;

• $817,500 to finance the design, environmental permitting, and construction phases of the 15th Street Northwest/Northeast Preservation Project. This grant requires a 50 percent local funding match. This project will grind and overlay 15th Street NW/NE from the Right of Way line of SR167 to Auburn Way N;

• Grind and overlay Harvey Road Northeast from Auburn Way North to 8th Street Northeast. The work will include upgrading curb ramps to meet current ADA standards, as well as remove unused driveway openings as an upgrade to non-ADA-compliant pedestrian facilities.

Funding has been made available in the approved City budget to meet the local funding match requirements of each grant.
