Community asked to weigh in on important state issues

With the 2017 legislative session getting underway Monday, Jan. 9, Sen. Joe Fain is asking South King County residents to make their voices heard by completing a brief online or mail-in survey on a wide range of topics that lawmakers will be working on in the coming months.

“Hearing directly from as many residents as possible in our community helps me to best represent your opinions and priorities in Olympia,” said Fain, R-Auburn, who serves as the Senate Majority Floor Leader. “This is just one simple way you can easily participate in what is ultimately your state government from the comfort of your kitchen table or mobile phone.”

Many South King County residents will receive the survey directly in the mail, which can be completed and returned to Fain’s office. The brief questionnaire can also be found and completed online at survey.senatorfain.com.

Topics include everything from campaign finance reform to teacher pay, business tax rates to the death penalty, distracted driver laws and traffic congestion. Residents can also respond to Fain with their own questions, comments or ideas for improving state government.

Fain will release the results of the survey on his Facebook page and in his weekly email update, which you can sign up for at news.senatorfain.com.
