Community is all in for Justin

The Auburn community is reaching out to help the Lazara family.

At a Feb. 24 assembly at Arthur Jacobsen Elementary School, the community kicked off a new service project, Sparrow for Justin, designed to help the Auburn family and Justin Lazara, a 3-year-old boy who is undergoing chemotherapy for rare malignant and aggressive brain and brain-stem cancers.

The project is in alliance with the youth-based charity organization, Sparrow Clubs USA.

Students and staff are being challenged to complete at least 256 hours of community service, and that time will be documented on ‘Sparrow Checks’ to earn funds that Mike Scarff Subaru has donated toward the project.
