A fire concealed in the sub floor of a home in Auburn displaced
residents early this morning and left behind an estimated $100,000 in damage.
A resident at the home called 911 after noticing smoke coming from
underneath thee single-story house at 409 V. Place S.E. Three fire engines, two aid units and a battalion chief from the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded.
Fire units arrived and confirmed that all residents had gotten out safely. Firefighters had a tough time getting to the flames, but after 90 minutes they were successful in extinguishing the fire. No civilians or fire personnel were hurt.
The displaced residents will be staying with friends until other
arrangements can be made.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
