As part of King County’s ongoing efforts to help its residents recover from historic flooding earlier this month, the county’s Solid Waste Division is providing vouchers that will allow individuals to dispose of their flood debris at no cost at any King County solid waste transfer station.

Vouchers are available to individuals through Feb. 26 by contacting the division at 206-296-4466, 1-800-325-6165, ext 6-4466, TTY Relay: 711, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Individuals who take flood debris to solid waste transfer stations without a voucher will be charged regular fees.

Earlier this month, at the direction of County Executive Ron Sims, King County worked with its commercial haulers to establish temporary debris drop-off sites in six communities that were hardest hit by flooding. The sites took in more than 800 tons of items that were damaged by floodwaters that reached historic levels on some rivers following several days of heavy rain and melting snow.
