Bikers came out to join Colby’s Ride, a benefit ride for the family of Colby Thompson, a Pacific infant and victim of Shaken Baby Syndrome, allegedly at the hands of his babysitter.

Last Saturday’s ride, which was organized by Tim and Amandi Atkins, began at Eagle Leather in Lakewood and ended at Rock the Dock in Tacoma, featured more than 150 bikes and raised more than $10,000 for medical bills for the family. Colby has improved, according to family members, but requires close medical attention.

The benefit also featured music, dinner and a silent auction of prizes that included

a 1976 Chevrolet Corvette.

Ten percent of the funds raised also were donated to Seattle Children’s Hospital.
