A driver struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning in south Auburn.
Auburn police reported a 66-year-old man was in a parking lot of the 900 block of Auburn Way South loading some items in his car when a vehicle traveling northbound on Auburn Way South failed to negotiate the curve and entered the parking lot. The vehicle struck the man and his vehicle, causing serious injuries, police reported.
The pedestrian was found laying near the entrance to the Donut Star when firefighters arrived around 6 a.m. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition by King County Paramedics.
Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority with assistance from King County Paramedics were on the scene.
The driver was arrested for vehicular assault.
It is believed that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Auburn police are investigating.
