Auburn Good Ol’ Days – a diverse festival celebrating the city and its people – will be held Aug. 7-9 in the downtown area.
The theme for this year’s festival is “Rip Roarin’ Whoop-Dee-Doo”. A grand parade officially will kick off the festival at noon Aug. 8.
Registration is now being accepted for various events and activities. Applications can be found at www.auburngoodoldays.com.
Among the events open for participants:
• The Friday Night Stampede 5K Fun Run. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Relay for Life of Auburn for the American Cancer Society.
• Build an outhouse for the Honey Bucket Brigade in the grand parade and advertise your business.
• Critters in Costume at City Hall Stage. A fashion show for pets and pet owners after the grand parade.
• Call to Artists!, a juried fine art show at City Hall.
• Adventures in Literature, Poets on Parade contest and book fair at Auburn Avenue Theater.
• Classic Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show.
Good Ol’ Days welcomes volunteers and students who would like to show their senior projects.
In addition, vendors are welcome to register early.
