The Pierce County Medical Examiner has identified the teenage driver who crashed his car into the back of a parked trailer tractor Saturday morning as Joseph Anthony Bisson Jr., 18, of Auburn.

Pierce County Sheriff spokesman Ed Troyer said Bisson’s 18-year-old passenger, an Everett resident, was critically injured and taken to a hospital, His condition was unavailable.

Troyer said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, which happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 15900 block of 78th Avenue East near Puyallup. The 1998 Acura CL 300 hit the rear of the parked truck after leaving the roadway.
