Only eight spaces remain for the City of Pacific’s ICS 100a – Introduction to the Incident Command System Class – to be held Feb. 27.

Although available online through FEMA’s training web site – http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/is/is100a.asp – many people find it is much easier to understand these concepts in the classroom setting.

Incident command is the management tool that is used in emergency management and response. ICS 100 and higher is required for all workers operating in emergency and disaster response.

ICS 100, Introduction to the Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher-level ICS training. The course describes the history, features, principles and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Class will start at 9 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. with a break for lunch. There is no charge.

At the conclusion, class members will be given a printed version of the online test. Attendees who then take the test online will receive a printable certificate from FEMA.
