Finally Found Books, a locally owned, independent bookstore in Auburn, has donated more than $30,000 worth of books to local teachers.
The gift came in the form of $10 gift certificates distributed to more than 3,000 kindergarten through 12th grade educators in the Kent and Auburn school districts.
“We know how hard our teachers struggle, spending out of their own pockets to fill their classrooms with books, supplies and other materials that the districts simply don’t have the budget for,” said Todd Hulbert, bookstore owner. “Although our business struggles on a continuous basis, we felt it was important to support our teachers, community and literacy for our kids.
“We are all stewards of our communities and therefore challenge other local businesses to follow suit and help these educators who work so hard for our children. If we all pitch in, we can make a difference.”
