Flames and smoke heavily damaged the kitchen of an Auburn home at 3210 Scenic Drive S.E. Friday morning.

No one was home at the time of the fire. A neighbor called 9-1-1 to report the fire at 11:05 a.m.

Three engines and one aid car from the Valley Regional Fire Authority responding to the approximately 2,000 foot, two-story home found smoke pouring out of the roof. Firefighters quickly killed the blaze and used high pressure fans to remove the smoke from the home.

A VRFA fire investigator has not yet determined the cause of the fire and is working with the Auburn Police Department on this incident.
