The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 194 calls for service between Nov. 9 and Nov. 15, among them the following:

Nov. 9

Overdose: 7:40 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics helped a woman who had downed an unknown quantity of prescription pills. They had difficulty bringing her around and her breathing was labored. Medic 6 administered drug therapy to reduce the effect of the prescription medication, and Medic 6 transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Nov. 10

Aid call: 2:20 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics arrived to find an unconscious diabetic man, woman or child in respiratory distress. Firefighters helped him or her breathe. King County Medics arrived to treat and transport him or her to ARMC.

Nov. 11

Motor vehicle collision: 12:20 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a two-vehicle collision in the 100 block of M Street Northeast. Arriving firefighters found two vehicles with moderate front-end damage and one girl or woman complaining of chest pain from the airbags. Aid 31 treated and transported the girl or woman to ARMC in stable condition.

Nov. 12

Service call: 11:15 p.m., (Auburn). Someone with a water heater problem somewhere in Auburn, Algona or Pacific asked for firefighters help. Firefighters found the water lines on the water heater spraying water, so they secured water and power to the appliance and advised the man or woman to contact the owner of the property to have the problem repaired.

Nov. 13

Car fire: 7:35 a.m., (Auburn) Firefighters arrived at the 5200 Block of Auburn Way North to find a vehicle fully involved in fire. After firefighters extinguished the conflagration, they determined that an electrical short had caused the trouble.

Nov. 14

Aid call: 7:46 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a man, woman or child experiencing chest pain. Firefighters and paramedics from King County Medic One provided basic and advanced life care before Medic 6 transported the man, woman or child to ARMC.

Nov. 15

Automatic fire alarm: 1:20 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to Gentry Walk Apartments for an automatic fire alarm and found an alarm sounding and the building partly evacuated. Turns out that burnt food had activated the alarm. Firefighters reset the alarm and returned the building to the occupants.
