Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority, South King Fire & Rescue, and King County Fire District No. 44 contained a brush fire on westbound Highway 18, a half-mile east of Weyerhaeuser Way.

No one was injured and no homes were damaged. Crews responded to a report of a fire after 1 p.m.

Firefighters contained the fire and will remain on scene to extinguish any hot spots that might remain in the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
