Meet FRED, a big green bus with a whole lot of food and learning aboard.
FRED – a bright green bus filled with books, math games, board games, computers and healthy food – will visit Valhalla Elementary on Wednesday, June 12, in preparation for a busy summer schedule of serving students in the Federal Way Public Schools service area.
Superintendent Rob Neu, Mayor Skip Priest and students in Donna Hoyt’s first-grade class will be getting their first look at FRED at 1 p.m. at the school, 27847 42nd Ave. So., Auburn.
FRED (fun, read, eat, dream) is a project of Federal Way Public Schools and multiple community partners. Its missionis to:
• Provide kids in Federal Way Public Schools’ service area healthy meals during the summer months
• Keep academic skills growing and developing.
