The Friends of Auburn Library recently announced that nearly $3,000 was raised at its annual book sale during the City of Auburn’s Fourth of July celebration at Les Gove Park.

All of the money earned goes back to the library to fund extra programs for children, teens and adults.

The group accepts donations of books, DVDs and CDs throughout the year at the Auburn KCLS, 1140 Auburn Way S. The donations are sold back to the community – both at the Friend’s book shelf at the library and at the annual sale.

The group welcomes new members. The next meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Auburn Library.
