Gildo Rey Elementary School has been awarded a Page Ahead grant that will provide books valued at more than $4,000 for students to take home to read with siblings and families.

Gildo Rey Elementary School has been awarded a Page Ahead grant that will provide books valued at more than $4,000 for students to take home to read with siblings and families.

Page Ahead is a children’s literacy program committed to providing new books and developing reading activities that empower at-risk children.

Ward, an incoming freshman, earned a 3.99 GPA at Thomas Jefferson High and is interested in majoring in mathematics. … WWU student Megan Light, daughter of Jim Viers and Robin Light of Auburn, received a $557 Irene and Dr. Lloyd Williams Scholarship, a $437 Margaret Aitken Scholarship, and a $150 Chappelle Arnett Scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year.
