As far as Leanne Guier is concerned, the job is never finished.

The Pacific mayor has so much to do in her first official, full four-year term in office.

“I’m looking forward to continuing what we have started here,” said Guier, who was sworn in by Pacific Municipal Court Judge Stephen Rochon during a ceremony at City Hall on Monday night. “I’ve got a good team behind me, good people to work with.

“I’m very honored to be elected mayor of Pacific.”

City Councilmember Katie Garberding also was sworn in Monday.

Because Guier and Garberding were appointed to their positions, they must be sworn in prior to the beginning their terms on Jan. 1.

Guier, a 19-year-resident of Pacific and City Council president, assumed mayoral duties in July 2013 after the recall of Cy Sun, whose 18-month tenure as mayor was shrouded in controversy. Guier stepped in to help the recovery process at City Hall.

Guier won reelection in the Nov. 3 general election, beating challenger Gary Nitschke handily.

Garberding was appointed to the City Council (Position 2) in May, replacing Gary Hulsey. She ran unopposed in the general election.
