Assault: Auburn police were dispatched to an in-progress physical assault on March 14 after receiving a report at approximately 4:05 p.m. regarding an incident around the 700 block of 4th Street Southeast. Police forwarded the case to Auburn city prosecutors.
Eluding: Auburn police arrested a man for attempting to elude a police vehicle on March 13 after an officer attempted to make a traffic stop after witnessing a vehicle driving recklessly. The vehicle sped away as a result. Auburn police avoided pursuing the suspect and later located the suspect at a residence. They arrested the suspect at approximately 11:49 p.m. on a felony charge of attempting to elude police.
Felony harassment: Auburn police arrested a man on March 14 at approximately 2:02 a.m. for threatening a victim with a sword around the 2300 block of Auburn Way South. Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report at approximately 10:48 a.m. of a victim who was threatened with a weapon. According to the department, the victim stated that a man threatened him with a sword that the man pulled from his backpack. Police confiscated the sword as evidence. Investigation into the incident continues.
Rape: Auburn police received a report on March 15 of the rape of an adult in 2800 block of I Street Northeast. Police collected evidence including a rape kit in regards to the report, but eventually determined it was a false claim, according to the department. Investigators have closed the case.
Luring attempt: Auburn police received report of the luring and kidnapping attempt on March 13 of an Auburn Mountainview High School student. The reporting party told police that the attempt occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. in the 28900 block of 124th Avenue Southeast, according to a news release from the Auburn Police Department. According to the department, clear video evidence shows there was no attempted luring. Investigators have closed the case.
Assault warrant arrest: Auburn police arrested an adult man on March 15 at approximately 12:10 a.m. on a warrant for arrest for domestic violence assault. Police apprehended the man following an on-foot pursuit after the man ran from police in the 4400 Block of D Street Northwest. Police also charged the man with two misdemeanors including resisting arrest and criminal trespassing in the first degree.
Gun pulled on student: Auburn police are actively investigating an incident in which a gun was pulled on and used to threaten an Auburn Riverside High School student. According to the department, the incident occurred in the 600 block of Oravetz Road Southeast on March 15 while the student was at the park. At approximately 10:30 a.m., Auburn Riverside High School’s school resource officer received information regarding the incident and noticed that the student wanted to talk with them. No injuries resulted as of the incident.
Assault: Auburn police arrested a 35-year-old woman on March 18 on charges in relation to an attempted assault on the roadway. Police received report of the incident at approximately 12:09 p.m. and were dispatched to the 4700 block of Auburn Way South. According to the department, a woman jumped into a vehicle as it slowed and attempted to punch the driver, also stealing food. No injuries resulted as of the incident. Police charged the woman with multiple offenses including vehicle trespassing, assault, theft, disorderly conduct and resisting and interfering with police.
Domestic violence: Auburn police are currently actively investigating a domestic violence assault involving a weapon in the 800 block of 10th Street Northeast. Police received report of an assault at approximately 6:34 a.m. March 18 and were dispatched to the scene. The suspect is still outstanding. No injuries resulted as of the incident.
