House relocates through streets of Pacific

Pacific made way for a major move Sunday morning.

Pacific made way for a major move Sunday morning.

As early as 6 a.m. crews prepared and moved one of the houses from the flood-prone White River Estates three blocks away to its new location at the corner of Butte Avenue and County Line Road.

For most of Sunday morning, some residents experienced some unusual traffic issues and road closures on White River Drive and Butte Avenue near County Line Road.

To make way for the wide load, Butte Avenue temporarily was closed from Stewart Road north to White River Drive. After the house was safely placed on new property, the roads reopened.

“As you can imagine, the moving of an entire house is not a simple measure,” said Mayor Richard Hildreth.
