This last Sunday I found myself in Auburn blocked from traveling SR 18 eastbound due to planned roadwork by the DOT. The signposts stated that people were to take “alternate routes” but as a non-local that proved extremely difficult.

I would like to congratulate the operators of the Circle K gas station who had printed reroute directions for their customers (and perhaps non-customers) who were looking for help. Next time, perhaps the DOT could actually post the alternate routes.
