Lake View Elementary’s team of fourth- and fifth-graders took the Auburn School District title at the King County Library System’s 14th annual Global Reading Challenge on Wednesday.

Lake View’s readers bested the nine-school field at Ilalko Elementary School and will represent the district at the regionals against the Enumclaw School District champion.

Winning teams from the four regional challenges will compete in the final on March 21 at the Bellevue Library, 1111 110th Ave. NE.

The competition – modeled after the popular Battle of the Books – is a quiz bowl based on 10 books given to the school by the youth librarians from the King County Library System.

The King County Library System and the King County Library System Foundation sponsor the event.
