Friends and neighbors have organized the inaugural Diego Moreno Food Drive on Halloween Night in Lakeland Hills in honor of the Kent Police officer who was killed in the line of duty in July.

Canned food donations can be dropped off on Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the home of Sandi and Randy Green, 6307 Stuart Place SE, Auburn, in honor of Moreno, who lived in the neighborhood.

“We will put a donation bin on our door step, but we welcome people knocking and saying hi,” Sandi Green said.

According to organizers, Diego’s call number was 2k56 and the goal is to collect 2,056 cans of nonperishable food times from the neighborhood to help feed the hungry.
