The Kennedy Catholic High School Marching Band was voted ‘Best in Parade’ for its performance in Auburn’s 44th Annual Veterans Day Parade. The Lancers competed against several military bands and was one of two non-military affiliated bands to receive an award.

Auburn’s parade is considered the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi. Three judges carefully reviewed more than 200 entries to find the Lancers above the fold.

“I have been bringing the Kennedy Marching Band to the Auburn Veterans Day Parade since 1986, and have always emphasized to our students that the sole reason we are performing is to honor the veterans in our community,” said Band Director Jim Paynton. “We are humbled by being named ‘Best in Parade’.”
