The Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound announcecd the participants for the class of 2010. The Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound, a nine-month, 90-hour program, provides students with:
• Awareness and understanding of the unique issues and challenges facing their region
• Refinement of their personal and public leadership style and skills
• Diverse contacts and an excellent communication network
• Recognition for themselves and their organizations for their voluntary community activities
• Better opportunities for an active and effective role in addressing community needs
The class of 2010 represents 21 businesses/organizations and 12 different cities throughout South King and North Pierce Counties.

The Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound is designed to sensitize participants to the real challenges and issues facing our region. The program consists of a rigorous, 90-hour, nine-month program of instruction organized to provide participants with confidence, issue awareness and leadership skills enhancement. The Leadership Institute provides “hands on” curriculum featuring senior elected officials and business leaders who present “real life” scenarios and exercises to engage students.
ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE OF SOUTH PUGET SOUND
Established in 1998, the Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound was formed through a coalition of the Auburn Area, Kent, Renton and Southwest King County Chambers of Commerce. This comprehensive leadership program is designed to prepare today’s emerging leaders for tomorrow’s challenges.
To date, more than 300 participants have graduated from the Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound and assumed leadership roles in their businesses and communities; and the coalition has expanded to include the Greater Maple Valley/Black Diamond and Covington Chambers of Commerce.
In the past 11-years the classes have completed over 55 projects which have benefitted non-profit agencies in our service area.
The mission of the Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound is to “develop informed, committed and engaged leaders in South Puget Sound”.
Leadership Institute of South Puget Sound is administered by the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce under the adept guidance of Lynn Norman, Administrator.
