The Auburn Council of PTAs recently presented 109 students awards in the PTA Reflections Cultural Arts Program.
The program challenged students from kindergarten through 12th grade to create and share art inspired by the theme, “Beauty Is!” Students created artworks in one of six media: literature, visual arts, photography, musical composition, film/video and dance/choreography. Students were judged in the following grade divisions – primary: preschool-Grade 2; intermediate: Grades 3-5; and middle school: Grades 6-8.
Twenty-four students from the Auburn School District will be advancing to the state level of competition. Those students are:

The Reflections program is sponsored by the National PTA, headquartered in Chicago, and by the Washington State PTA. Award recipients from each local unit then are judged at the council and state levels. State PTA award recipients are forwarded to the National PTA competition. The state PTA will post the names of students receiving State PTA and National PTA awards on the Washington State PTA Web site (www.wastatepta.org) in May. Washington State PTA and National PTA award recipients from Washington also will be recognized at the Washington State PTA Convention on May 2.
