A mechanical defect is to blame for a logging truck losing it's load and blocking all lanes of westbound State route 18 at West Valley Highway on Tuesday morning. According to the Washington State Patrol, the truck toppled, spilling logs across the westbound lanes at about 9:30 a.m. In addition to the SR 18 closure, the onramp from West Valley Highway on to westbound SR 18 is also closed. Although the WSP said they had no estimate when the road would be reopened, a Washington State Department of Transportation incident team was on the scene and clearing the debris as of 11 a.m.
