Auburn police responded to the following calls for service among many others between March 6 and March 15:
March 6
Sex offense: 12:30 p.m., 30600 116th Ave. SE. A woman reported that four days prior she had been walking past a local school when a man, driving a newer silver pickup truck, stopped and left his vehicle, wearing only a shirt in an attempt to expose himself. He drove off when she warned him that she knew his vehicle license. The woman was concerned about the man possibly exposing himself to school children.
March 10
Disorderly conduct: 7 a.m., 300 Auburn Way N. A man confronted a woman stopped at a red light during morning rush-hour traffic, tried to open her door and asked for oral sex. The woman drove away when the light turned green, leaving the man standing in the road. The woman delayed reporting the incident for two hours, by which time the guy had left the scene.
Vandalism: 1:05 a.m., 40 block of 5th Street Northeast. Police arrested a boy for vandalism when somebody spotted him spray painting gang-related graffiti on a fence on the side of an apartment complex. The boy’s problems mounted when officers found a small amount of marijuana in his pocket.
Theft of auto: 2 a.m., 27 15th St. NW. A man tried to report his Jeep Cherokee stolen after he and a friend had tried to sell a stolen television in the parking lot of the Iron Horse Casino. The sale had gone bad and someone the man knew drove off with his wheels. When Kent police caught up with the vehicle, its owner decided he didn’t want to press charges after all.
March 15
Burglary: 8 a.m., 4300 block of B Street Northwest. Between March 12 and March 15, a person or persons unknown cut a chain link fence, entered a tool yard then cut a locking hasp to remove a cutting torch from the yard. Police did not disclose a value for the missing torch.
Burglary: 7 a.m., 2516 I St. NE. The superintendent of Synergy Construction called to report that over the weekend, two 100-foot long-strings of temporary lighting had been stolen from a construction site. No value was given for the missing lights.
Sock stealer: 6:35 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. A man tried to swipe $90.70 worth of mens and womens socks from the north end Top Foods and was arrested.
