The 18-year-old man who was shot in the parking lot of the Lakeland Hills Town Center on Nov. 2 continues to fight for his life in Harborview Medical Center with a serious gunshot wound.

“Victim is still alive but very critical,” Auburn Police Cmdr. Steve Stocker said Wednesday morning.

And while detectives continue to follow up on leads to find the perpetrator, Stocker said, there have been no arrests.

What led up to the shooting remains an unknown.

According to police, 911 received a call at 12:08 a.m. Nov. 2 of a one-car accident at the intersection of 69th and Lakeland Hills Way.

Responding officers found a Chevy Tahoe that had crashed into a tree on the northeast corner of the intersection. In the driver’s seat, officers found a man with a gunshot wound.

Subsequent investigation revealed that some sort of altercation had occurred in the parking lot of the town center before the shooting, and that the victim then drove to the area of 69th and Lakeland Hills Way, where he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the tree, police said.

Medics treated the man at the scene and transported him to Harborview.
