Rosella Mosby of Mosby Farms has been recruited by the U.S. State Department’s Agricultural Trade Office to visit Japan later this month on a countrywide program.

Rosella Mosby of Mosby Farms has been recruited by the U.S. State Department’s Agricultural Trade Office to visit Japan later this month on a countrywide program speaking on Agricultural Entrepreneurship: Youth Engagement in Rural Revitalization.

Mosby will share her insights and expertise to help recruit the next generation in Japan to engage in rural agriculture. The program is designed to inspire young Japanese, particularly women, by giving practical tips on how to start agricultural businesses and shedding light on how it can contribute to local revitalization.

Mosby’s stops include Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Munakata City, Obihiro and Sapporo, where she will be speaking to academics, researchers, journalists, government officials, university students and mid-level professionals from the public and private sectors who are interested in agricultural entrepreneurship.

Mosby will only be in Japan for eight days. Her visit was more in demand than anticipated. She had to decline visiting some consulates that had requested her to speak.

Mosby has run a successful CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, a farm stand and community outreach. She also has worked with local chefs through her family farm in Auburn for years.
